Re:Generation OPEN DOORS: Opening Austria’s Institutions to Ukrainian Students in Vienna

Re:Generation OPEN DOORS is a new joint initiative by European Centre for Freedom and Independence (EUCFI) and Younia, designed to give Ukrainian students in Vienna direct access to Austria’s leading institutions and organisations through a series of structured study visits.
The initiative is a natural continuation of Re:Generation – Meeting with Ukrainian Youth in Vienna, bringing the dialogue one step further — from discussion to direct experience, observation, and professional exposure.
Following the Re:Generation meeting, which gathered Ukrainian students and young professionals to discuss education, careers, and civic engagement in Austria, EUCFI and Younia launched Re:Generation OPEN DOORS as an organic next step.
While the initial event focused on exchange and reflection, the OPEN DOORS format is action-oriented: it opens institutional doors and allows students to see how key sectors of Austrian public, political, cultural, and international life function from the inside.
About the initiative
Re:Generation OPEN DOORS is a series of study visits to Austrian institutions aimed at:
helping Ukrainian students better understand Austria’s institutional landscape;
introducing professional standards, values, and working cultures in different sectors;
supporting academic orientation, career planning, and networking;
strengthening connections between Ukrainian youth and European institutions.
Visits
Each visit is designed to combine learning, professional insight, and informal exchange, creating a space where students can ask questions, gain clarity, and build confidence in navigating their future paths in Austria and Europe. The initiative has already moved from concept to implementation:
December, 2025: Study visit to the Austrian Parliament, marking the official launch of Re:Generation OPEN DOORS.
January 20, 2026: Planned study visit to the United Nations Office in Vienna (UNO).
Perspective
Through Re:Generation OPEN DOORS, EUCFI and Younia aim to create a sustainable platform that supports Ukrainian students not only in adapting to Austria, but in actively engaging with its institutions and professional environments.
