On July 12, a ZOOM conference took place as part of our project Youth Work with Displaced Ukrainian Youth. The organizers presented the interim results of the project and, together with project partners and invited speakers, discussed various aspects of youth work.

During the presentation prepared by the Centre, we showcased the outcomes of the training held in Vienna (April 2024). Over the course of a week, delegations from four countries discussed the issues and challenges faced by displaced Ukrainian youth both within the country and abroad. They sought solutions, studied the best Austrian practices in youth work, and worked on creating a list of recommendations at practical and strategic levels.

We are pleased to note that each organization in the project continues to actively support displaced Ukrainian youth both abroad and within the country.

After the presentation, Vladyslav Yatsuk, Director of the Youth Policy Department of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, spoke about new ministry initiatives aimed at improving communication with young people.

Representatives from partner organizations also spoke - Lesya Mukoseyeva from the Association of Youth Workers of Ukraine, Emma Zahynayko from the Stand for Ukraine Foundation (Poland), and Tetiana Pohorena from the new project partners - the Lorraine-Ukraine Exchange Association (Metz, France).

As part of the event, Maryana Strepko, a participant in the Professional Integration HUB program, shared her experience of a three-month internship at the Federal Ministry of Education, Science, and Research of Austria. Maryana discussed the key challenges faced by Ukrainian youth in the Austrian education system and her proposed solutions.

Marianna Yeleyko, Director of the Bohdan Hawrylyshyn Family Foundation (Kyiv, Ukraine), also joined the conference. She spoke about the founder and inspirational leader of the foundation, Bohdan Hawrylyshyn, who dedicated many years to developing a democratic, inclusive, and effective society, particularly through work with Ukrainian youth. Mariyana highlighted the foundation's key activities, including the Youth Changes Ukraine program.

The next step is the final conference in Warsaw, involving organizers, project participants and partners, and invited European experts.

We will share our youth work developments on our social media pages.

The project is implemented by the European Center for Freedom and Independence (Austria) in partnership with WIENXTRA (Austria) with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine under the Erasmus+ program.
